Shipping Tips
Here are some helpful tips for shipping your dull
blades to CaliforniaColdSaw.com for sharpening.
Packaging your Blades:
Package your blades thoughtfully and securely. Wrap all blades together in a tight non-shifting bundle. Place a sheet of paper, newsprint or cardboard between each blade to avoid damage to the coating. Four pieces of cardboard bent around the edges of the blades and secured makes a nice non-shifting bundle. After bundling, place tightly in a box. Use glass fiber strapping tape around box in all three directions to keep contents from breaking through. Shipping insurance is usually available if you desire.
Common Shipping Methods:
UPS (United Parcel Service office or a UPS Store)
FedEx (Federal Express office or at Kinko’s Copies)
USPS (United States Postal Service – Post Office)
Reducing your Shipping Charges:
Ship more blades together. There is a Double-Benefit here.
First, you can significantly reduce your shipping costs per blade by shipping more blades at a time. Example: Including packaging, shipping one 250mm blade locally by UPS costs about $6.00, whereas three blades costs about $7.00 ($2.33 each), and 10 blades costs only $9.00 (90 cents each).
Second, we offer quantity discounts on sharpening of up to 25%. See our sharpening prices on our CNC Sharpening page.
U.S. Postal Service Shipping:
The United States Postal Service has a Flat Rate Box (13-5/8” x 11-7/8” x 3-3/8”) that costs $10.20 to ship any weight to any address in all 50 states in 3 days. This box will hold cold saw blades (or cold cut blades) up to 300mm in diameter, and costs the same no matter how many blades you pack into it. This is a great money saving option for heavy packages, long distance shipping, or packages from Alaska or Hawaii. And, the boxes are free at your local post office. You can print shipping lables from the USPS website, and ship directly from your business.
Alaska & Hawaii:
For 300mm (11-7/8") diameter blades and under, use the USPS Flat Rate Box mentioned above.
